Dear Friends
I want ask something again. I want to create a database and then create a small application with C++ wich i will use to insert records to database basic. I want to ask what is the best way to connect my database with C++. For example i used for my database access 2007 and components adoconnection, adotable and datasource. Is any other way? Is good way? I mean is someother combination faster? And if i want to use sql server is that way appropriate?
Also i want to ask in sametopic if i have a table on access 2007 with fields like company, telephone etc. So i use dbedit for the user to see the records. But what about if i want to insert a record on my table. Can i use again the same dbedit? is better to use simple TEditBox?

Hey,
I am currently searching for a control to be used in Delphi that allows entering e-mail addresses and names in an MS Outlook style way. While the user is entering the first part of the name, there should be a suggestion list for up/down navigation. When the address input is done, it should be erasable by clicking an X near the name.
What I found when googling was a "Tag Input Control" that acts like the tag input known from the Evernote Windows client. Works fine, but has no suggestion list of existing tags (e-mail addresses). DevExpress has something like that, but is part of the HTML5 pack and as far as I know not available for VCL.
Does anyone know about such a ready to use control?

Is there a way to manually register/add/install the help files?
After "updating" to Delphi 10.1 Berlin Update 2 I can't use the F1 Hotkey in my IDE. "Help is not installed. Please Re-Install". In the installer the Docs are selected but it does'nt work. Any ideas? The chm files are on my hdd (Studio\18.0\Help\Doc) but the F1 hotkey does'nt work.

Annoying and random license validation behavior - by: Brent Williams

Does anyone else experience this??? I'm merrily working in RadStudio 10 and out of the blue RadStudio disappears and up pops a web page declaring that "Your Embarcadero product or license can’t be validated." (https://www.embarcadero.com/product-validation-error)
This happens randomly. The absolute horrible part is any work not saved is lost because RadStudio closes with no warning.
I, of course, have a valid license so that's not an issue.
I've experienced this a bunch of times and i'm really frustrated by this horrible behavior.
Please let me know if you've experienced this and know of solution.. thanks!

error compiling with Runtime packages disabled - by: JChristie

I have a project that has been updated from BCB5 to RAD Studio 10.1
I want to compile without any runtime packages so:
C++ Compiler->Use Classic Borland compiler FALSE
C++ Linker->Link dynamic RTL FALSE
C++ Linker->Link Delphi Runtime Library FALSE
Packages->Runtime Packages->Link with Runtime packages FALSE

I get errors:
- unable to open file ADSELCOM.DFM
- unable to open file SYNEDIT.RES
- unable to open file OVCBASE.RES

When I turn the compile options to TRUE to use runtime libraries everything compiles and runs fine, but I don't particularly want to distribute all those extra libraries - I'd prefer just the one bloated exe file.
Clearly I am missing a path or setting somewhere, can somebody point me in the right direction?
